University Of Bath Winter Graduation Ceremony
The University of Bath once again approached Enlightened Lighting to provide technical services for their Winter Graduation Ceremony, to be held in the prestigious Assembly Rooms in Bath.
"We use Enlightened Lighting for our Summer Graduations in Bath Abbey and our Winter Graduations in the Assembly Rooms, particularly around the stage area. Nothing is too much trouble for them and various the requests I've made (some at short notice) have always been met. The staff are friendly and professional and their great team work adds to the success of our ceremonies".
Sheila Willmott - Events and Ceremonies Officer - University of Bath

Enlightened were briefed to design a Staging, Sound and Lighting solution.
The Assembly Rooms is a beautiful venue and we work very closely with the full time venue staff. The venue is not however the easiest to work in technically. Special attention is required with respect to the acoustics and the sight lines from the lighting positions around the five Crystal Chandeliers.
The awkward acoustics were carefully taken care of with a Nexo Loudspeaker system consisting of ten PS8 loudspeakers and two LS400 with additional DBX signal processing and controlled by a Soundcraft mixing desk. The set up produced a distributed and controlled sound over the entire venue with additional self powered monitors providing on-stage fold-back. Once the system was installed and set up, control was handed back to the University Audio Visual Department to operate for the ceremonies.
Behind the stage to create a backdrop a pair of Doughty Strata stands were used to lift a 15m span of Milos Quatro truss to 5m in height. From the truss the backdrop of Blue Velvet drapes were suspended along side University Banners. Banner lighting and back lighting was completed with 500W Selecon Acclaim Fresnels. The Velvet drapes were up-lit using Anolis Arcline Optic 36 LED battens.
Front light was supplied in the form of ETC Source Four Parnels. A Glass Custom Gobo was projected using a Source Four Zoom Profile. Dimming was Zero88 BetaPack 3's, with all the lighting being controlled by a Zero88 Jester 24/48.
